Translation Challenge #6… (swa-eng)

Mungu ibariki Fun-Lugha!

I am very happy to celebrate one year since i started this website. To be truthful i didn’t begin with high expectations, i just wanted to show my students an example of the method i used to teach and also to give those who don’t know kiswahili a small taste of this language, that is a sample . To begin with people just came to check it out then they left, without even letting me know their thoughts. But now it makes me very happy when i see people tell each other on about this website, they communicate with me through the internet and even others have put me on lists of the best sites to teach yourself Kiswahili (http://www.fb10.uni-bremen.de/khwagner/swahili/links/gesampt.aspx)….i dont understand German so i just hope what they write is complimentary!
A big thanks to Boga,Joyce Keeley,Madebe and all those who have visited and asked questions, made comments etc. These help me make what i write better. God willing we will celebrate even ten or more years but for now i am am just grateful we have reached the second year.

    New words for me were
    Tovuti
    Matarajio
    Mbinu

    Also
    niwieni

I used the kamusi for these words, but still niwieni was problematic with wi being wicked/evil/bad i was unsure of the -eni, but from context i guessed at I’m bad (of course is a good way) sort of ..felt naughty.. ie In relation to a perceived indulgence say in chocolate, or maybe an extra portion of samaki with tui la nazi

Hey! The phrase is niwie radhi which is just a way of apologizing. When I add the ni at the end its just to show that am referring to many people. You can read on that in LESSON #70. Glad you picked up all that vocab, be sure to put it to good use now!
